About Café de Manica
A new coffee origin lies behind the hills of Chimanimani. Follow our journey as we uncover the future for Mozambican coffee.

We believe sustainability is the key to a perfect cup of coffee
working towards a
positive cup of coffee
Our story began with the idea of planting a few coffee trees in the hills of the Chimanimani Reserve, Manica in Mozambique. In 2019, Jenaro Lopez, agronomist and farmer, planted a trial crop not traditionally grown outside the tropical region: coffee. With a dash of crazy, hope and instinct, Jenaro made his way into the world of specialty coffee by allowing the cup to lead the way.
coffee fields where
women come first, always
The Women in Coffee program is one-of-a-kind ethical sourcing model committed to ending the cycle of poverty affecting women coffee farmers across the Manica area. Cafe de Manica provides direct compensation to women farmers, along with the opportunity and resources to enact positive change in their communities and on their own terms.
